[ARCHIVED] Is the fill station open?

chance of rain.jpg

There's a chance of rain in the forecast, but you're still hoping to get some of ISD's free recycled water. Is the fill station open today?

Ironhouse Sanitary District's Residential Recycled Water Fill Station remains open year-round, however there are rules that the District must follow when distributing recycled water. One of the rules is not giving water to the public on days of "heavy" rain and then 24 hours after.

What is considered "heavy" rain to you may be different than it is to the District. Our general rule of thumb is if the rain is down pouring for more than two hours and if it leaves puddles in the streets, we will probably have to close down the fill station for the day. If the puddles are still on the streets the next morning, we will remain closed for that day.

Just to be on the safe side keep watch on ISD's website "News Flash" area (here) on our homepage. Also, you can sign-up for our website's "Notify Me" service and we'll send you an email or text you when we are going to close the Residential Recycled Water Fill Station.
