[ARCHIVED] District completes annual CAFR

Ironhouse Sanitary District has been completed its annual Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year of 2017-18. The report includes the District’s annual independent audit.

The audit report features the Management's Discussion and Analysis, the Statement of Net Assets, the Statement of Revenues, Expenses, and Changes in Net Assets, the Statement of Cash Flows and the Notes to Financial Statements. Following the independent audit is a series of graphs and charts to help readers further understand the District’s finances.

The CAFR is also filled with information about the District, including service area boundaries, information about the District’s Water Recycling Facility and the cleaning operations, the collection system operations and a new section this year which includes the District’s resource recovery efforts.

In fact, the District theme for this year’s CAFR is Resource Recovery. The 90-page document is filled with photos that represent some of the Ironhouse’s resource recovery efforts.

The 2016-17 CAFR was award a Certificate of Excellence from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). The GFOA selects an impartial panel of accounting professionals to judge the CAFR to make sure it meets the highest standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.

The Government Finance Officers Association is a major professional organization servicing the needs of nearly 19,000 appointed and elected local, state and provincial-level government officials and other finance practitioners. It provides top-quality publications, training programs, services, and products designed to enhance the skills and performances of those responsible for government finance policy and management. The association is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, with offices in Washington, D.C.

Ironhouse Sanitary District is an independent California Special District that provides wastewater and water recycle services for the City of Oakley and the unincorporated community of Bethel Island.
