No Damage to District Facility from 9/8/16 Fire

A huge "thank you!" to the East Contra Costa County Fire Protection District for their efforts battling a grass fire right next to the ISD offices.  With some help from ISD staff, they quickly put out the flames and hot spots.  Treatment Plant staff John Abdilla and Adrian Vazquez hooked up a fire hose to a fire hydrant and ran it under the perimeter fencing to provide a constant water supply.  Collection and Maintenance staff Frank Casey and Louis Solana made sure that ISD's hydrojetter was topped off and ready to help in the event flames hopped the fence.  Treatment Plant Manager Chris Christean notified the Fire Chief, Hugh Henderson, of people down in the basin, water availability and access locations.  Great Job everyone!!

ISD Focused on Upgrading NEXGEN Asset Management System

Asset management systems such as NEXGEN provide the District with detailed information on the preventative and corrective maintenance histories and are a valuable tool in developing capital improvement plans based on equipment management.  Lead Plant Operator Adrian Vazquez has been diligently working on the NEXGEN WRF Module to fully utilize the system.  Adrian has reassigned work orders to designated positions, which will rotate among the Operations staff monthly.  Adrian has been working closely with NEXGEN support staff to update the system.
